Its all money –
The kitchen is probably the most expensive part of your house. Don’t be in a rush to tear out your cabinets. They may not be damaged as much as you think. You may need to take off the sheet rock in the room or garage that is backed up to the same wall the cabinets are on to be able to dry out the cabinet area.
You may only have to replace the warped doors. Leave the base and counter top till dried out, it may be all right.
You need to spend some time to do your homework. Decide if you just need to replace the doors or just paint the cabinets. You may be able to buy new manufactured doors to replace only the damaged ones. Some times just replacing the bottom base board on the lower cabinets is enough.
Tearing out allows easy cleaning of the floor area the bases sit on. Contractors love to tear out cabinets. Wait a month, just leave them in place and see what happens. Again they are expensive, it is your money. Why be in a rush to waste money. You can still work on the house and do the other repairs; leave the cabinets until last. You can tear the cabinets out any time so don’t do it first and regret it later when you see what it costs to replace them.
Leaving the kitchen sink in place and its usage is a great one. Again spare yourself the cost of tearing out and replacing when it may not be needed.
With thousands of manufactured cabinets installed and no call back, I like the short time it takes to screw them to the wall, job over. You can take the measurements to a lumber company and they will lay it out. Watch out for the offer to install, all you want is the cabinets. Get a carpenter of your choice to install the cabinets and someone to install the counter top.
You may have just read enough to have saved thousands of dollars.
